Page Title: Investor InBox
What you can do on this page:
The Investor InBox contains messages sent to you if we have difficulty verifying the accuracy of your bank information, delivering a payment, or debiting your checking or savings account. We may also send you informational messages helpful to your account management. You will see one of the following subjects:
- Bank Notification (Prenote) - We sent information to your bank to confirm you are using a valid checking or savings account to make Treasury security purchases, and part of your bank information was incorrect.
- Returned Payment - We sent a payment for you that could not be delivered, because your banking information needs updated or there is an active hold code on your account.
- Bank Notification (Debit) - We attempted to deduct the payment for your Treasury securities purchase from your bank account and received notification from your financial institution that there is a problem with your checking or savings account.
You are given instructions to correct bank or account information so that future transactions may process correctly. Some e-mail messages contain a text link taking you to the appropriate location in TreasuryDirect to make the necessary changes to the related record. The message selected appears above the Subject box for you to read. A message will remain in the Investor InBox until you delete it, or have performed the required change to the bank information.
Primary Actions

- Select a checkbox and click "Delete" to remove a message from Investor InBox.

Page Title: IRS Form 1099
What you can do on this page:
IRS Form 1099 provides you with important tax information that is also reported to the Internal Revenue Service.
For your convenience, we provide the printable IRS Form 1099 on or before January 31 of the selected tax year. This form complies with all Internal Revenue Service regulations. It includes entries, when applicable, that are reportable on Forms 1099-INT, 1099-B, and 1099-OID. We display our (the Payer's) Federal Identification Number. We also display the name and address of Account Holder, TreasuryDirect Account Number, and Taxpayer Identification Number. Any partial or full redemptions and/or transfers and interest/maturity payments are listed as reportable tax events for the selected tax year.
Totals for Interest, Amount, and Federal Income Tax Withheld are given, as well as tax filing instructions for each type of 1099 (when applicable). The Description of Security also includes the original Issue Confirmation Number. This information assists you in tracking transactions related to each security. For example, the form may display the same Issue Confirmation Number more than once, if there's more than one transaction for the same security. Some transactions may also appear as reportable tax events if a second-named registrant with granted Transact rights is the recipient of funds from a security held in your account. (Note: Transaction rights are not available in entity accounts.)
Primary Actions
- Click "Return" to go back to ManageDirect® > Taxable Transactions Summary.

Page Title: ManageDirect® > Transfer Request
What you can do on this page:
A Transfer Request allows you to request transfer of ownership of a security to another TreasuryDirect account. You may transfer the full amount or a partial amount of a security. The minimum transfer amount is $25.00. When making a partial transfer, you must transfer a minimum of $25.00, while leaving at least $25.00 of the current value in the security. A partial transfer includes principal and a proportionate amount of interest. To transfer a security, you must enter the recipient's Taxpayer Identification Number and TreasuryDirect account number. The registration will automatically be changed to the recipient's name only upon transfer.
For some transfers, a page will display with a link to a paper form needed to complete your transaction. In this case, you must complete and mail the paper form according to its instructions. Your requested transfer will not be processed until we receive and approve your form.
